Client INFORMATION
Your First Appointment
Your first appointment with us is very important. This Initial Consult includes an assessment, which generally at minimum include a verbal assessment and postural assessment. It may also include range of motion testing and other special tests to help identify the most likely cause of pain or dysfunction. This will help us to formulate a treatment plan tailored to your individual requirements, which we will discuss with you at the end of the session.
We also ask that you arrive 5min early to complete a client form with all your medical history.
If you are committed to improving your wellbeing, it may take a few sessions to get you back on track. Just think about how long you have left your concerns/ailment or muscle soreness and take this into account when booking for your followup sessions. Your therapist will help guide you on the best approach and work with you on your next session timings/booking.

Re-Assessment and Take-Home Exercises
At the end of the massage session, your therapist will generally perform some reassessment of the physical tests initially performed to determine the effectiveness of the treatment. They will then summarise what they observed for you. They will also recommend a follow up treatment plan as necessary, and let you know what you can expect from future treatments.
Your therapist may also provide some take-home exercises and self-care advice to maximise the results of the treatment. Any time dedicated to reassessment, exercises and lifestyle advice is included in your treatment time, so in order to demonstrate exercises your therapist may finish up your hands-on treatment a few minutes before the end of your treatment time. They will generally check with you to make sure this is ok. We encourage you to consent to this as we strongly emphasise the importance of your active engagement in your own well-being between treatments. Some simple improvements in the way you use your body day to day and / or the addition of some stretches or exercises can mean you need to see us less often and when you do you are in less pain. So its definitely worth a few minutes of your time!

24 - 48 hours after treatment
While most people feel amazing the day after a good massage, it is not uncommon to experience some mild post-massage tenderness and sometimes, depending on the techniques applied, mild bruising, swelling or lethargy; particularly if you haven’t had a massage for a while or this is your first time. This is all natural with your body responding to the massage session.
We encourage you to drink plenty of water, eat good heathy food and keep moving gently as much as possible. Apply heat or ice as per your therapists’ instructions. You may also enjoy a warm epsom salts bath. Generally within 48 hours you will start to feel back to normal and your concerns that you came with at the initial session will hopefully be put at ease.
